It Wasn't Me...

Own Your FDA Part Three

A Stands for ACTIONS

“The power behind taking responsibility for your actions lies in putting an end to negative thought patterns. You no longer dwell on what went wrong or focus on whom you are going to blame. You don’t waste time building roadblocks to your success. Instead, you are set free and can now focus on succeeding.” – Lori Myers

“It wasn’t my fault”, “what else was I supposed to do”, “my friends made me do it” or “work kept me late”.  Unless you’re experiencing an invasion of the body snatchers you have full control over your actions. What you do, how you do it, what you put your energy into and of course all the actions you don’t take and the energy you waste –ARE ALL ON YOU. You may laugh when I suggest an invasion of the body snatchers, but honestly that’s how many people act when it comes to facing their own actions.  You are not micro-chipped (that we know) it’s you: hitting the bar on the ride home, foregoing the gym, not looking for another job, not taking action to change or improve your current circumstance and settling for a less than a joyous life…it’s ALL YOU.

If you don’t like the way you’re acting, the behaviors and habits that you’ve created then know the only one that can change them is you!!!  If you want to act differently, then do it. If you want a better career, then start becoming the person that fits that role. If you want to be healthier, then stop eating crap and start making better food choices.

In Summary

No one else can make you feel anything, it is your mind that determines how you feel.

No one else can make your decisions, there is always at least two options and the decision lies with you.

No one else can make you act in a certain way, you are the soul inhabiting your body, you are the one that is living your life, you are the one that is taking action or inaction.

Start regulating your FDA, start focusing and becoming aware of your Feelings, Decisions and Actions. I know first-hand how eye-opening and painful it can be to really start taking responsibility for your own life.  Inner awareness is rarely pleasant, get through the muckiness of it, start bearing the burden and you’ll find yourself much lighter as the trip goes on.
